Sprinter Van Cabinets – nice wood, man!
When it comes to Sprinter Vans, this guys got some serious wood
When I built out my Sprinter Van cabinets, I had visions of building a beautiful wood-laden interior worthy of a ritzy Aspen lodge. When I sobered up, reality kicked in and I noticed my wood craftsmanship look like a beaver with a toothache on crystal-meth (errr something like that).
Youtube and Pinterest inspire us to build things. I mean, c’mon, it doesn’t look that hard right? My Uncle, who builds beautiful cabinetry, told me that what differentiates a good carpenter from an average carpenter is their ability to hide their mistakes. I was only able to do so when the lights were off.
Meet Wood by Toth. This fellow I stumbled across on YouTube built a really well organized Sprinter van for his photographer friend. Complete with massive rear pullout drawers and the entire interior built from walnut, judging by what I can see is he hides any mistakes well – or he just doesn’t make them.
You see a lot of wood Sprinter builds out there; I have seen many in person. The majority are DIY’ers like me… trying to accomplish something new on a budget. I guess it just takes time and learning from your mistakes. Or perhaps it just takes making friends with guys like Toth.
