There’s something super cool about living in a simple manner, and this simple yurt is very cool. After reading Radical Simplicity my wife and I decided to sell and donate 80% of our belongings. It was an incredibly liberating experience (and sometimes difficult letting go). We downsized from a 2,000 sq. ft home and a 2 car garage to a 300 sq. ft RV. Culture shock… just a little. Having been on the road now for 18 months, I honestly don’t remember anything we let go of (except my ’67 Westy… I do miss her).
Over the past few years my wife and I have had the luxury of staying in a few different yurts. One things we’ve noticed is they can look/feel cluttered. Not sure if it’s the lattice or that people have too much stuff. For some reason this yurt feels much more open and clean.
When we settle down in a stationary home we will carry this simplistic lifestyle over. Never again will we have a home loaded to the hilt, or have shelves in a garage maxed out with bins of memorabilia.
Put more simply… living simple makes sense. This dude has it dialed in.
