Yurt Life may not be for everyone
“Hey mom, me and the hubby are going to go live off-grid in the snow in Montana… in a tent. Whaddaya think? We want to experience yurt life”
[Pause… sound of body dropping to the floor]
You don’t live in a Yurt to impress your friends. “Wait, you’re living in a f@#king tent?” is what they would ask (in a nice way).
No, you live in a Yurt because you either (A) are a super hippy that cares a ton about the environment and your carbon footprint. (B) Have some land but don’t have a lot of cash to pay some contractor to build you a stick home. Or (C) want to do something different and live in a round space without depending on the grid.
Then, of course, you could be all three scenarios.
Meet Sean and Mollie Busby. They live a 1000 sq. ft. off-grid Yurt (if you include the 300 sq. ft. loft) somewhere in Montana.
This thing is rad. It’s solar powered, has a composting toilet, and big blue tank with freshwater. Goal Zero produced this video so it’s done well and is too much of an overt advertisement.
Would you live in a Yurt in the snow?
