Tiny Home Hotel in Portland makes me happy

Tiny Houses are cool, there is no getting around it.

The majority of city zoning regulations aren’t so cool, which why we are searching for loop holes and helping to spread the word.

After staying in a very small vacation rental with my wife, daughter and two dogs in Bend, Oregon – we were sold on the idea of tiny living. It’s cheaper to build, cheaper to maintain, takes creativity with regard to the dwelling, organization and systems. The best part was it kept us all very close. It was really a bonding experience.

Fast forward two years since our stay in Bend and we still live in our stick-built, suburbia dwelling. We are looking for places perhaps outside of San Diego (or California for that matter) that are a little more open to alternative housing concepts. The home we stayed in was probably 300 square feet-ish. We’d really like to rent a traditional Tiny Home (if you can consider a Tiny Home traditional).

Introducing Caravan Tiny Home Hotel in Portland Oregon. The owners of this awesome little resort have built a small community of Tiny Homes that they rent out as hotel rooms. Portland is known for being open to new environmentally-friendly ideas and this hotel is a great example.

So whether you are looking to try out tiny living or just want to get some ideas, the Caravan Hotel looks like a great place to do it. I hear it’s really popular so book in advance.
