Gooseneck Tiny House

What’s a Gooseneck Tiny House?

When talking trailers, there is definitely an advantage having a 5th wheel over a standard travel trailer. Not only do they tow significantly better, but you get more living space with an overall less towable length. Another cool part is, most 5th wheels have the master bedroom on the upper “gooseneck” portion which nicely breaks up the living space.

FYI, this is a gooseneck trailer

Most Tiny Home builds you see are somewhat similar in design. They are all built on a standard trailer chassis, thus making loft-style layouts for most of them.

I found this build by Nelson Tiny Homes from Nelson Canada. They used a Gooseneck-style trailer for their build, which gave them a really unique floor plan. The master bedroom, like many 5th wheels is at the far end of the trailer and up a level. The builder opted to still utilize a loft which would be great if you have kids or guests.

The dining/living room features a modular box-style furniture design allowing you to configure based on your needs. The large kitchen, laden with Ikea cabinetry and fixtures, gives the unit a modern and organized feel.

The best part, in my opinion, is the large bathroom complete with giant tub.

The only, perhaps slightly oddity is that you have to go through the bathroom to get to the master bedroom which could provide a challenge after a night of Indian food. Just say’n.
